Looking for a unique Disney accommodation experience that combines the magic of Disneyland Paris with the freedom of self-catering in a peaceful woodland setting? Disney Davy Crockett Ranch offers something completely different from the traditional Disney hotel experience. We’ve stayed at Disney Davy Crockett Ranch many times over the last few years, enjoying the new cabins on our most recent visits. We’re sharing our honest thoughts on whether this forest cabin resort is the right choice for your family.

Disney Davy Crockett Ranch

Our Honest Take on Disney Davy Crockett Ranch

Disney Davy Crockett Ranch is unlike any other accommodation at Disneyland Paris. Rather than a hotel with corridors and room service, you’re getting a private cabin nestled in woodland, complete with your own kitchen, private parking, and an outdoor terrace. It also has a playground, an excellent swimming pool and plenty of outdoor space. We regularly travel to Disneyland Paris with our three children and our dog, and usually stay at Disney Davy Crockett Ranch as it’s perfect for families and pets.

If, like us, you are travelling to Disneyland Paris by car with a family or pet, Davy Crocket Ranch is our top pick as you get all the benefits of staying on site, with the benefits of self-catering and separate bedrooms. The only downside is that it does require a car, which won’t suit everyone.

Cabin Upgrades

The cabins at Davy Crockett Ranch are currently undergoing a major refurbishment, with all the older cabins being replaced on a phased basis. We’ve stayed in both the older and the new standard cabins and the new cabins are a fantastic and welcome upgrade. We hardly noticed the renovation works during our most recent stays.

Location and Getting to the Parks

Let’s talk about the location first: Disney Davy Crockett Ranch is located outside the main Disneyland Paris resort perimeter, approximately 7 kilometres from Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios (soon to be Disney Adventure World). This makes it the only Disney accommodation without a shuttle service to the parks so it’s an advantage to have your own car if you’re planning to stay here.

If you do not have your own car it’s important to be aware that the cabins can be a long walk from the reception and with no shuttle service, taxis/Ubers will cost a lot during your trip.

Driving to the Parks: The official Disneyland Paris website says the journey takes around 15 minutes by car, but it never takes us more than 10. As a Ranch guest, you receive free parking at the main Disneyland Paris car park. This is a significant perk worth €30 per day. The drive is very straightforward and you will rarely (if ever) encounter traffic on the short route.

Cabin Types at Davy Crockett Ranch

All cabins at the Ranch sleep up to six guests and include two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a living area, bathroom facilities, and a private terrace with a barbecue.

Trapper Cabins (these cabins have not been refurbished): This cabin type is the original Davy Crockett Cabin. The master bedroom has a double bed, while the second bedroom features four single beds (this has been replaced by a 3 bed second bedroom in the new cabins). There are also 2 toilets and 2 showers (the new cabins have 1 toilet room and 2 showers). These cabins will be phased out once the new standard cabins are finished.

Why Book These Cabins? You can still book them and, and for those needing 4 single beds, we do prefer this layout with 4 single beds in the second bedroom. If you prefer to have a second toilet, this is only available in the Trapper Cabin. Otherwise, we’d recommend booking the new cabins.

The living area of the Trapper cabins

New Standard Cabins: Disney began rolling out completely redesigned cabins in September 2025 and they feature a charming new theme inspired by Donald Duck, Daisy, and the Junior Woodchucks. These refurbished cabins offer a more modern interior with updated furnishings.

There have also been some changes to the layout: the second bedroom now has 2 single beds and a trundle bed (vs the original 4 single beds) and there is a single sofa bed in the living area. The ensuite toilet/shower has been replaced by a shower only and a small walk in wardrobe. There is significantly more storage and lots of nice touches, plus additional seating on the patio terrace

Why Book These Cabins? If you’re planning to stay at Davy Crockett Ranch, we recommend paying the small amount extra for a new standard cabin. The interior is lovely and the furniture and fittings are still very new. The only downside is that the sofa bed didn’t look very comfortable for an adult.

New Standard Cabins (near facilities): These cabins are identical to the new standard cabin, they are located closer to facilities, i.e. in one of the trails adjacent to the facilites. These cabins are significantly more expensive, however if you want to be able to walk to the swimming pool, restaurant, shop or bar it’s worth it. We’ve staying in these cabins previously and it was very nice not having to hop in the car to use the facilities.

Why book these cabins? These cabins are the best option if you do not have your own car or if you pefer to walk to the facilities.

Cabin Amenities and Kitchen Facilities

One of Davy Crockett’s biggest advantages is the fully equipped kitchen in every cabin. During our stays, we’ve made full use of these facilities and saved a considerable amount compared to eating every meal at the parks.

The kitchens include a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, hob, toaster, kettle, and coffee machine. You’ll also find a complete set of pots, pans, plates, cutlery, and cooking utensils.

Beyond the kitchen, the cabins feature a television with Disney and international channels, free WiFi, air conditioning and heating, a safe, and a hair dryer. The private terrace comes with a picnic table, chairs, and a barbecue with grill (BBQ kits and logs can be purchased from the on-site shop).

Important Note: There is no daily housekeeping at Davy Crockett Ranch. You receive a small cleaning kit at check-in containing basic supplies.

Dining at Davy Crockett Ranch

There are on-site dining options for when you don’t fancy cooking.

Crockett’s Tavern: The main restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring grilled meats, fish, salads, and desserts. The rustic woodland tavern atmosphere fits the frontier theme perfectly. Prices are €35 for adults and €20 for children and it’s one of our favourite places to eat at Disney. During our visits, we’ve found the food quality to be good, with a solid variety of options even for fussy eaters.

Crockett’s Saloon: A cosy bar perfect for evening drinks and light snacks after returning from the parks. We often pop in here before heading back to our cabin.

Trading Post: The on-site shop at Davy Crockett Ranch is fantastic. It’s a cross between a grocery store and a Disneyland Paris merchandise store. Guests can find all the self-catering supplies, including fresh pastries and bread each morning, along with groceries, barbecue supplies, meat, fruit, vegetables, and basic essentials. The prices are reasonable for a resort shop, though we’d recommend doing a bigger supermarket shop before arriving if you plan to cook extensively.

There’s also a wide selection of Disney merchandise and souvenirs. You can usually find some unique merchandise.

Takeaway Breakfast: If you don’t fancy preparing your own breakfast, a continental takeaway breakfast is available for €12 per person. You collect it from the collection point at the entrance to your trail each morning. The package includes a croissant, a baguette, butter, jam, Nutella, orange juice, and tea or coffee sachets. The takeaway option is convenient, but we usually just pick up bread and pastries at the Trading Post each morning.

Blue Springs Pool: Our favourite pool at Disneyland Paris

The Blue Springs Pool is genuinely the highlight of Dav Crockett Ranch and, in our opinion, the best swimming pool of any Disney hotel at Disneyland Paris.

The pool features a tropical forest theme with waterfalls, a small lazy river with gentle currents, a waterslide that’s faster and longer than it looks, three whirlpool hot tubs hidden in cave-like alcoves, and a separate children’s paddling pool.

It’s perfect for a morning swim before heading to the parks or an evening dip after a long day. You’ll need your Magic Pass to access the pool, and towels are not provided, so remember to bring your own from your cabin.

Disney Davy Crockett Ranch

Activities and Facilities

Beyond the pool, there’s plenty to keep families entertained at the Ranch without venturing to the theme parks.

Outdoor Activities: There is a playground for younger kids with swings, slides, and climbing equipment. There’s a 9-hole mini golf course (€2.50 per person).

Indoor Facilities: The Lucky Raccoon arcade provides rainy day entertainment with air hockey, arcade machines, and basketball games. There’s also an indoor tennis court available for guests.

What’s Missing: Unlike the other Disney hotels, there are no Disney character meet and greets at Davy Crockett Ranch.

Staying with Our Dog at Davy Crockett Ranch

One of the main reasons we keep returning to Davy Crockett Ranch is that it’s the only Disney accommodation at Disneyland Paris that is pet friendly. For us, being able to bring our four-legged family member on holiday makes a huge difference.

Dog-friendly cabins are available for a supplement of €30 per night, with one dog allowed per cabin. Upon arrival, you receive a welcome pack containing a water bowl, a disposable mat and poop bags. It’s a lovely touch that makes you feel genuinely welcome.

The woodland setting is perfect for dogs. We take ours for morning and evening walks along the forest trails, and there’s plenty of space for them to stretch their legs between park visits. The cabin’s private terrace means our dog can sit outside and enjoy the forest atmosphere while we have breakfast or dinner.

If you plan on leaving your dog in the cabin during the day while you’re away, you need to have a cage for them. You can rent them from Davy Crockett Ranch, however we take our own collapsible dog crate

Guests can also benefit from a reduced rate at the on-site Animal Care Center. This is a good option if you’re planning a long park day as you can pop out of the parks to walk your dog.

Important Requirements: Your dog must be microchipped or tattooed, with up-to-date vaccination records including rabies vaccination. Category 1 and 2 dogs (certain restricted breeds in France) are not permitted. You’ll need to book a dog-friendly cabin specifically by phone to ensure you’re allocated an appropriate accommodation. We’ve never had an issue securing a dog-friendly cabin when we have called ahead.

Disney Hotel Perks at Davy Crockett Ranch

Despite being located outside the main resort, Davy Crockett Ranch guests enjoy all the benefits of staying at an official Disney hotel.

Extra Magic Time: Access the theme parks one hour before general opening

Free Parking: Ranch guests have complimentary parking at your cabin and at the main Disneyland Paris car park. Given that parking normally costs around €30 per day, this represents significant savings.

Magic Pass: Your Magic Pass serves as your cabin key, meal vouchers (if booked), photo pass, and can be used as payment throughout the resort.

Package Deals: When booking through Disneyland Paris, packages often include park tickets at discounted rates. You can also add a meal plan.

Is Davy Crockett Ranch Worth It?

After multiple stays with our family and dog, we can confidently say it’s worth it for the right type of guest. Here’s who we think will love it and who might want to consider alternatives.

Perfect For: Families who drive to Disneyland Paris will find Davy Crockett ideal. Larger families or groups benefit enormously from cabins sleeping six at a fraction of the cost of multiple hotel rooms. Self-catering enthusiasts who want to save money by preparing some meals will appreciate the kitchen facilities. It’s also the perfect option for dog owners and our dog really enjoys staying.

For our family, the combination of space, self-catering flexibility, the fantastic pool, and the ability to bring our dog makes Davy Crockett Ranch our preferred choice for longer Disneyland Paris stays. The peaceful setting provides a genuine contrast to the excitement of the parks, and we always return home feeling properly rested despite our Disney adventures.
