Looking for an affordable, family-friendly hotel at Disneyland Paris that doesn’t skimp on Disney magic? Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne delivers a charming Wild West experience with Toy Story theming, making it one of the best value options among the on-site Disney hotels. After multiple stays at this Disney Hotel Cheyenne, we’re sharing everything families need to know before booking.

Disney Hotel Cheyenne

Our Honest Take on Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne

Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne is a 3-star hotel that punches well above its weight class. With 1,000 rooms spread across 14 Wild West-themed buildings, this hotel immerses guests in a nostalgic frontier town atmosphere reminiscent of Woody’s Roundup from Toy Story. While it lacks some amenities like a swimming pool, the exceptional theming, convenient location, and affordable pricing make it an excellent choice for families visiting Disneyland Paris.

The hotel captures the spirit of an Old West town with authentic touches throughout—from wooden building facades and cowboy-inspired décor to character encounters with Woody and Jessie. It’s designed to make you feel like you’ve stepped into a frontier settlement, complete with a saloon and general store.

We’ve stayed at Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne a number of times with our kids and we’ve really enjoyed it each time. The theming is really fun and with solid food options (even for fussy eaters) and close proximity to the parks we’ve returned to the hotel numerous times.

Room Options and What to Expect

Hotel Cheyenne offers three room categories, all decorated with Wild West and Toy Story theming:

Standard Rooms: Feature one double bed and one pull-out bed, sleeping up to four guests. These offer the best value and are scattered throughout the 14 themed buildings.

Rooms Near Hotel Facilities: Located in buildings closest to the main reception and restaurants. These feature either two double beds or one double bed plus a pull-out bed. The proximity to dining and lobby areas is convenient, especially with young children. We usually pay the little extra for the rooms near facilities as we find it worth it when visiting with children.

Riverside Rooms: Positioned along the walking path overlooking the Rio Grande River. These rooms can be quieter than those facing the main hotel thoroughfare, though you might hear faint cowboy music from the Red Garter Saloon depending on your location. Available with two double beds or one double plus pull-out.

Room Features

All rooms include air conditioning (a must during summer visits), complimentary WiFi, a flat-screen TV, and daily housekeeping with fresh water bottles. Rooms also now feature a kettle and coffee machine which is a welcome addition. Previously communal coffee machines were the only way to get hot drinks, outside of Starbucks.

Free baby cots are available upon request, however you’ll need request when you check-in and they are subject to availability. We’ve usually taken our travel cot with us when we needed it.

Rooms feature delightful Toy Story touches like cowboy boot-shaped lamps and themed artwork. Bathrooms have shower-over-tub configurations with basic toiletries provided.

Location and Getting to the Parks

Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne sits along the picturesque Rio Grande River, directly across from Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe. While it’s one of the farthest on-site hotels from the park entrances, it’s still very manageable for families. We’ve always walked to the park as it’s a nice walk along the river path.

Walking to the Parks: The scenic 15-20 minute walk takes you along the river and through Disney Village. With young children, factor in about 20 minutes. The path is well signposted and enjoyable, even after a long park day!

Free Shuttle Service: Complimentary shuttle buses depart every 12 minutes from 6:30 AM to 11:00 PM daily. The journey takes approximately 8-10 minutes. During peak times, buses can get crowded, so allow extra time if you’re trying to catch Extra Magic Time.

Character Meet and Greets

One of the biggest perks of staying at Cheyenne is the exclusive daily character experiences. Every morning between 8:15 and 11:00 AM, either Woody or Jessie appears in the lobby for complimentary meet and greets with hotel guests.

Characters typically rotate throughout the morning, though occasionally only one appears. These encounters are more relaxed than park meet-ups, with shorter wait times and a more intimate setting. It’s the perfect opportunity to return to the hotel after Extra Magic Time for a character photo before heading back to the parks.

Bonus Perk: Cheyenne guests can also visit character meets at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge, Newport Bay Club, and Santa Fe hotels, where characters appear in the evenings.

Dining Options

Chuck Wagon Café

The hotel’s main restaurant serves all-you-can-eat buffet meals in a barn-themed setting designed to resemble authentic American wagons from the Gold Rush era. The Tex-Mex and American cuisine menu includes BBQ, ribs, salads, and kid-friendly options. Breakfast buffet is popular and often included in package deals, while dinner buffets are available for approximately €40 per adult and €22 per child. We’ve eaten at the Chuck Wagon for the dinner buffet and really enjoyed it. The food selection was very good and our kids all enjoyed it.

Red Garter Saloon

This Old West-style bar serves cocktails, soft drinks, and light snacks including pizza, fries, and appetizers. The atmosphere captures authentic saloon vibes with country music and rustic décor. Outdoor seating is available during warmer months, making it a pleasant spot to unwind after park days.

Disney Hotel Cheyenne

Starbucks

Similar to Disney Hotel Sante Fe, Disney’s Hotel Cheyenn has an on-site Starbucks that offers all the usual coffee drinks and grab-and-go snacks. It’s located beside the General Store.

Money-Saving Tip: Each guest receives one free hot beverage daily from hotel vending machines using their Magic Pass (room key). This is a lesser-known Disney hotel perk that can save money on morning coffee.

Hotel Facilities and Amenities

For Kids: Fort Apache outdoor playground provides space for children to burn energy after park days. Seasonal pony rides allow young guests to experience frontier life on pint-sized ponies (availability varies). The Little Sheriffs Children’s Corner in the lobby offers art supplies and coloring activities. Our kids loved the cute kid-sized steps at lobby desks.

General Store: The hotel gift shop stocks Disneyland Paris merchandise with a selection of unique Toy Story items. PhotoPass cards, pins, and essentials are available. A pin trading board is located outside the store.

Self-Service Laundry: Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne is the only on-site hotel at Disneyland Paris with self-service laundry and it is really useful for anyone travelling with kids. We’ve used it on more than one occasion and it was a life-saver.

Perks of Staying at Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne

As an official Disney hotel, Cheyenne guests enjoy numerous exclusive benefits:

Extra Magic Time: Early access to both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park before regular opening. This is arguably the most valuable perk, allowing families to experience popular attractions with minimal wait times.

Free Parking: Complimentary parking throughout your stay (normally €30/day at park lots).

Hotel Shopping Delivery: Purchases over €50 at park shops (before 2.30pm) can be delivered to your hotel for evening pickup.

Free Shuttle Service: Regular buses to and from the parks.

Priority Dining Reservations: Book restaurants up to 12 months in advance (versus two months for non-hotel guests), crucial for securing popular character dining experiences.

Disney Bubble: The ability to immerse yourself completely in Disney magic without leaving the resort.

Absolutely. For families seeking authentic Disney magic without premium pricing, Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne delivers exceptional value. The combination of immersive theming, character experiences, convenient location and all Disney hotel perks makes it one of the smartest choices for Disneyland Paris stays.

While it lacks a swimming pool and represents a longer walk to the parks, these trade-offs are minor compared to the significant cost savings versus the 4-star and 5-star options.
