A celebration of Disney Royalty, the 5* Disneyland Hotel invites guests to immerse themselves in a royal story. Located right at the entrance of Disneyland Park, the hotel boasts stunning bedrooms, exclusive guest experiences and brand-new character dining.

After a recent stay in the Disneyland Hotel (spoiler: it is fabulous!), we wanted to share our review to help those of you planning your own Disneyland Paris trip!

Disneyland Hotel tip: we’ve stayed at all 6 of the onsite hotels (Disneyland Hotel, Marvel, Santa Fe, Sequoia Lodge, Newport Bay Club and Cheyenne) in recent months.

Our Experience at the Disneyland Hotel Paris

Disneyland Paris’ 5* Disneyland Hotel reopened in February 2024 after a fairytale refurbishment.

Our family of 5 (Dave and I, our two children aged 4 and 6 and our 1-year-old infant) stayed in a Superior Room in the Disneyland Hotel at the beginning of February 2024. We reserved our room directly with DisneylandParis.com and added the hotel’s exclusive premium meal plan to our reservation to cover our breakfast and character meals in the Disneyland Hotel restaurants – check prices here!

Meeting Jasmine after a royal makeover at My Royal Dream!

We absolutely loved the Disneyland Hotel and made sure to experience as much as possible! We ate at all of the hotel restaurants, including the Royal Banquet and La Table de Lumiere, met the Princesses at the Royal Encounter, shopped in the boutique and swam in the pool! Our children enjoyed the Royal Kids Club, had a royal makeover at my Royal Dream and met more Princesses than they dreamed of!

You can read more about the Disneyland Hotel on the official website here.

Royal fun at the Disneyland Hotel!

Is it worth staying at the Disneyland Hotel?

Yes, we think so!

Let’s start this off by saying that everything about the Disneyland Hotel, from the rooms to the restaurants and its location, is fabulous. It offers a true 5* flagship hotel experience at Disneyland Paris. We had an amazing time at the Disneyland Hotel and can’t wait to return.

Disneyland Paris Disneyland Hotel
The Disneyland Hotel Magic Pass

It’s also the most expensive property on site and I know many of you want to understand what sets it aside before making a reservation – having stayed at all the other Disneyland Paris onsite hotels, we certainly wondered if the Disneyland Hotel is worth the premium when we reserved our stay!

Disneyland Paris Disneyland Hotel
The Princesses are a huge part of the Disneyland Hotel experience

The bedrooms and general guest areas are magnificent and the execution of the royal theming is impressive. However, it is a combination of this, the wonderful customer service and the exclusive guest experiences that make the Disneyland Hotel such an amazing place to stay.

How to reserve the Disneyland Hotel Paris

We recommend reserving a Disneyland Hotel and ticket package directly with DisneylandParis.com . We’ve always found reserving directly offers the best rates, flexibility and benefits – hotel and ticket packages include park tickets from check-in to check-out (the tickets are often heavily discounted and a package is generally much cheaper than reserving the hotel and purchasing tickets separately – check prices here!

Disneyland Hotel guests also have access to Extra Magic Time, a time when all Disneyland Paris Disney hotel guests are granted access to the parks one hour before the official opening time. This is a fantastic perk and a great way to enjoy the parks with low crowds and wait times.

Exclusive Experiences for Disneyland Hotel Guests

The Disneyland Hotel utterly spoils its guests by offering a selection of exclusive experiences and benefits. As a guest, these perks really enhanced our stay and made us feel like royalty!

A Disney Royal Encounter

A Disney Royal Encounter is a meet and greet with a Disney Princess, an experience that is exclusive to guests of the hotel. During our stay, Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine, Snow White, Aurora and Merida held court at the Royal Encounter. The Princesses are wonderful and have lots of time for every guest – they made our children feel so special and were incredibly kind and personable with them.

Disneyland Paris Disneyland Hotel
Meeting Cinderella at the Royal Encounter

The Royal Encounter takes place in a Royal Room adjacent to the Royal Kids Club. Guests with an accommodation reservation at the hotel can reserve a timeslot for the Royal Encounter on the Disneyland Paris app from 7 days before their stay. A PhotoPass photographer is present to capture the moment.

Disneyland Hotel Paris tip: before the Disneyland Hotel reopended to guests the best options for meeting a Princess were the Princess Pavillion (the wait time for the Princess Pavillion is typically 90 minutes or more to meet a single Princess) or by reserving Princess Dining at Auberge De Cendrillion (this fine dining experience typically involves meeting 3 or 4 Princesses and Cinderella’s two mice. It is a fantastic dining option which comes at the cost of €95 for adults and €50 for kids). Being able to meet the Princesses within our hotel and with barely any wait time is an incredible privilige and, if you have any princess fans in your party, undoubtably one the biggest perks of staying at the Disneyland Hotel.

Meet Princesses and other Royalty

Character appearances are abundant at the Disneyland Hotel. Aside from the hotel’s formal meet and greet, the Disney Royal Encounter, we met the Princesses many times as we walked around the hotel.

Disneyland Paris Disneyland Hotel
Belle at the Disneyland Hotel

Disneyland Hotel Paris tip: if you have ever spent 2 hours waiting in line at the Princess Pavillion to meet a single Princess (and I have, many times, with two young kids to entertain!) you will understand how absolutely luxurious it is to meet the Princesses in abundance in the Disneyland Hotel. It really is a dream come true for Princess fans and the experience is truly priceless and each interaction so peronalised. Our three kids were mesmerised by each meeting and the Princesses even remembered them from previous encounters.

Disneyland Paris Where to meet Princesses
The Princess Pavillion is typically a 90-minute wait

Princesses such as Belle and Cinderella often join the La Troupe Royale Disney in the magnificent hotel lobby. Made up of two theatrical performers, La Troupe Royal Disney are a duo who share musical versions of Royal tales and often break out in song.

Disneyland Paris Disneyland Hotel

The Princesses are often present on the second floor as they walk between their Royal commitments. They often stop to greet guests and take photographs with them.

Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Goofy also visit the hotel every day for lunch and dinner at the Royal Banquet. We spotted them often as we walked through the hotel and, although the longer interactions are reserved for Royal Banquet guests, they always had a friendly wave and interaction.

The Royal Princes (we saw Prince Charming, Prince Eric, Prince Phillip and Prince and Prince Adam) also walk through the hotel in the evenings as they make their way to La Table de Lumiere.

My Royal Dream

My Royal Dream is a royal makeover which transforms guests into princesses, princes, mermaids, queens, knights or whatever they desire! My Royal Dream is currently exclusive to Disneyland Hotel guests.

All packages include hair and makeup and a royal photoshoot with the option to add costumes and accessories when you opt for the more expensive options. A PhotoPass photographer captures a royal studio photoshoot after the makeover and one printed photo is included in each package.

My Royal Dream has been on our Disneyland Paris wishlist for years and it’s a wonderful addition to the Disneyland Hotel. Our 4 and 6-year-old had an amazing time at My Royal Dream and loved spending the day dressed as royalty! The photographs are stunning!

Disneyland Hotel tip: at its launch, My Royal Dream was available for everyone to reserve on the Disneyland Paris app. Within a few days of the hotel opening, it was annoucned that reservations for My Royal Dream were restricted to Disneyland Hotel Guests only. All existing books are being honoured at the moment.

Dine at La Table de Lumière

Only Disneyland Hotel guests can dine at La Table de Lumière, a fine dining restaurant in the Disneyland Hotel.

Read more about La Table de Lumière on the official website, here.

La Table de Lumière is inspired by Versailles

Every evening, La Table de Lumière hosts guests for dinner and 3 Royal couples are in attendance. On the day we attended, we met Ariel and Prince Eric, Belle and Prince Adam and Aurora and Prince Phillip during our meal.

Dinner at the Royal Banquet

The Royal Banquet offers lunch and dinner sittings with Mickey and Minnie Mouse and 2 of their friends. Read more about the Royal Banquet on the official website, here.

While the lunchtime sitting is currently open to guests of all the Disneyland Paris hotels, the evening banquet is reserved exclusively for guests of the Disneyland Hotel.

Premium Meal Plan

Disneyland Hotel guests can add on an exclusive premium meal plan which covers the full cost of all character dining to their hotel and ticket packages – read more about the premium meal plan on the official website, here.

The premium meal plan includes 1 breakfast and 1 meal per night of your stay and we also received a soft drink or water with our evening meals. It includes character dining and covers the most expensive character meals (which are the two character meals offered at the hotel).

Disneyland Paris Disneyland Hotel
Breakfast at the Royal Banquet

The premium meal plan is a great option if you are planning to have breakfast in the hotel and want to dine at the premium restaurants: we found it cost-effective with our plans to dine at the Royal Banquet (with Mickey and Minnie Mouse and 2 from Goofy, Pluto, Donald, and Daisy dressed in their royal retire) and La Table de Lumière (with 3 royal couples in attendance).

Disneyland Paris Disneyland Hotel
Enchanted Ball Cake at La Table de Lumière

Other good options include Auberge de Cendrillion (with 3 or 4 Princesses and 2 mice) or breakfast with the characters in Plaza Gardens in Disneyland Park – you can dine here instead of at the hotel however, guests need to reserve the character breakfast.

Disneyland Hotel Paris tip: we added the premium meal plan to our recent weekend stay at the Disneyland Hotel. We were able to use it to have breakfast at the hotel each morning (it can also be used for the Character Breakfast in Plaza Gardens) and it covered two meals – we opted for dinner in Table de Lumière and lunch at the Royal Banquet and thought both were excellent.

The Location

Steps away from the entrances to Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios, the location of the Disneyland Hotel is unbeatable.

A note for guests in the Disneyland Hotel

We loved being able to pop in and out of the park as we pleased and having the kids tucked up in bed less than 15 minutes after the fireworks end is priceless!

Dedicated Park Entrance for hotel guests

The Disneyland Hotel is located right at the entrance to Disneyland Park (we counted around 25 steps from the ticket scanners to the hotel door, it is amazing!).

There is a dedicated entrance for hotel guests on the left of the ticket scanners. We used this entrance each morning when we were entering the park just at the start of Extra Magic Hour and there were groups of 10 to 15 guests waiting to enter at each of the scanners.

Royal Kids Club (2 Hours Complementary Childcare)

While all the Disneyland Paris hotels have dedicated children’s play areas, the Disneyland Hotel is the only one to provide childcare to its guests. Parents can avail of complimentary childcare for up to 2 hours per day for children aged 4 to 11 in the Royal Kids Club. Kids are entertained with a variety of activities and arts and crafts in the Royal Library. There are more details on the Royal Kids Club below.

The Disneyland Hotel

After staying at all 6 of the onsite Disney Hotels recently, here’s our take on the newly reopened Disneyland Hotel:

The Bedrooms

There are 487 rooms and suites in the Disneyland Hotel with a mix of superior bedrooms, deluxe bedrooms, Castle Club rooms, 5 signature Suites and 2 unique suites. The bedrooms are located in one of the 3 hotel wings – the Central Wing, East Wing and West Wing – and a small number boast park views.

We (a family of five with 2 adults, a 6 and 4-year-old and a 1-year-old infant) stayed in a Superior Room with 2 double beds.

Minibar: the contents of the mini-fridge are complimentary at the Disneyland Hotel. In our Superior Room, the mini fridge was stocked with some bottles of water, orange juice and some small snack jars.

Room Requests: We requested a cot and bedrails and both were delivered promptly and in excellent condition (they were brand new!). The cot came with a Disneyland Hotel-branded sleeping bag for the baby.

Pillow Menu: a selection of pillows is available for guests with options listed in a Pillow Menu. The pillow choices include relaxation, serenity, beauty, beauty sleep, comfort and support. We ordered a couple of extra pillows from the pillow menu and they arrived promptly.

Our artwork was themed to Tiana

Superior Rooms: these are the hotel’s entry-level rooms and are large and lavish with subtle decor celebrating the Royal Disney Stories. They are available as a king room, a double room with 2 double beds or a superior family room with 2 doubles and a pull-out bed. The family room can sleep up to 5 adults and 1 infant, while the king sleeps 3 adults plus an infant and the double 4 adults plus an infant.

Deluxe Rooms: Deluxe rooms are similar to superior rooms in terms of decor and size but come with some added benefits and magical touches. Deluxe rooms include access to the Deluxe Lounge with soft drinks, breakfast buffet and afternoon tea. Guests also benefit from a dedicated check-in and concierge desk.

Castle Club Rooms: again, Castle Club rooms are similar to superior rooms in terms of decor and size but include additional benefits and magical touches. Guests have access to the Castle Club Lounge which includes breakfast with some of the Disney Princesses in attendance and has a stunning view of the Castle. There is a dedicated check-in and concierge desk and a private lift directly to Disneyland Park. Some of the Castle Club rooms have a park view.

Castle Club Suites: the Castle Club Suites enjoy the same benefits as the Castle Club rooms. There are 5 signature Castle Club Suites themed to Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty. There are 2 one-of-a-kind suites, a Princely Suite (Beauty and the Beast) and a Royal Suite (Frozen). Some of the Castle Club suites enjoy a Park View.

What is the difference between Superior, Deluxe and Castle Club Rooms?

Superior, Deluxe and Castle Club Rooms are almost identical in terms of decor and size. The Deluxe and Castle Club rooms have extra lighting in the form of a magical LED-lit canopy on the ceiling and a special lighting effect on the royal paintings – both of these effects are stunning at night.

Disneyland Paris Disneyland Hotel
Superior, Deluxe and Castle Club rooms are similar in size and decor

The major differences between the 3 room types are the check in and concierge areas, the different levels of lounge accesses and the inclusion of a lounge breakfast in the room rate:

  • Superior Rooms are room only with breakfast available (at an additional cost or as part of a meal plan)
  • Deluxe rooms have access to a deluxe lounge which overlooks the Fantasia Garden. Breakfast, soft drinks and themed treats are included in the longe. Guests in deluxe rooms have a separate check-in area and a dedicated concierge desk.
Disneyland Paris Disneyland Hotel

  • Castle Club rooms have access to the Castle Club lounge which boasts a magnificent view of Disneyland Park and Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. The Castle Club Lounge includes breakfast with the Princesses, soft drinks and themed snacks (the snacks have been Frozen-themed to date). Some Castle Club rooms have a park view. Another amazing perk is the private Castle Club lift which provides direct access to Disneyland Park.
Disneyland Paris Disneyland Hotel
The bedrooms are spacious and luxurious
  • Castle Club Suites enjoy all the benefits of the Castle Club rooms while enjoying the hotel’s signature and royal suites.

As the rooms are very similar, we make our room choices based on our dining preferences. We love dining in the parks and the restaurants at the onsite hotels so often opt for a meal plan when reserving our room. We also love checking out Disneyland Paris snacks and always reserve a character dining experience or two! Therefore, the Superior Rooms are perfect for us as, while it would be a fab inclusion, lounge access isn’t important to us.

Disneyland Paris Best Snacks

The deluxe rooms are great if you want to enjoy the Deluxe Lounge and have breakfast, drinks and snacks available.

Castle Club Rooms and Suites and the Castle Club Lounge are the ultimate treat at the Disneyland Hotel. From the Princesses joining guests at breakfast to the stunning views from the lounge to the signature suites available. We’ve seen the Frozen-themed Royal Suite and the suite and its view are breathtaking!

Food/Restaurants at the Disneyland Hotel

The Disneyland Hotel has two restaurants, La Table de Lumière and the Royal Banquet:

La Table de Lumière

Our evening at La Table de Lumière is one of the highlights of our stay at the Disneyland Hotel!

La Table de Lumière is a fine-dining restaurant inspired by the Versailles Hall of Mirrors and incorporates elements of Beauty and the Beast in the decor. Hosting only a dinner service (€120 for adults/€60 for kids aged 3 to 11), guests are joined by 3 Royal Couples through the course of the evening.

Characters: on the night we dined, Ariel and Prince Eric, Belle and Prince Adam and Aurora and Prince Phillip joined us. Cinderella and Prince Charming are also regulars at the restaurant.

Food: dinner consists of a 3-course fine dining meal with an amuse bouche to start and a small plate of petit fours to finish. Dishes are varied and include lobster, beef, lamb, shellfish, chicken and vegetarian and vegan options. Some of the desserts are Beauty and the Beast themed.

There are some incredible details that we loved: the beautiful Tangled-inspired mirrors in the hotel bedrooms, the stunning Fleur de Lyc covered rotunda and the Mickey hands on the elevator dial were among our favourite features.

The Disneyland Hotel Spa by Clarins Spa offers a range of signature treatments including massages, manicures and pedicures. There is also an indulgent children’s menu with massages and facials and packages which cater for both parent and child – these are available to children age 6 and over.

Royal Collection Boutique

The Royal Collection Boutique offers a fabulous range of Disney souvenirs and hotel-exclusive merchandise.

There are Disneyland Hotel sweatshirts, t-shirts, hotel scent sprays, candles, tea cups, key chains, pins, coins, lanyards and notebooks. There’s also a Givenchy range of attire and exclusive Pandora jewelry. A replica of the Tangled-inspired bedroom mirror and a Royal Mickey Mouse plush are among the most popular items in the store.

Disneyland Hotel for Kids

Our three children adore the Disneyland Hotel and love to make the most of all the facilities. The Royal Kids Club caters specifically for younger guests but there is plenty more for them to enjoy including My Royal Dream, the Royal Encounters, the hotel swimming pool with its children’s splash pool, the Royal greeters and the theatrical performances of La Troupe Royal Disney who are often accompanied by the Princesses in the hotel lobby.

2 hours childcare: the Disneyland Hotel is the only Disneyland Paris Hotel to provide childcare with guests being able to avail of 2 hours complimentary for 4 to 11-year-olds. Children are treated to activities including interactive storytelling and creative workshops while their caregivers enjoy the hotel or the parks. Childcare is limited to 2 hours per day and is subject to availability.

Collectible Stickers

One of our kids favourite activities during our stay, there are 6 stickers available to collect from various locations across the Disneyland Hotel. The exclusive stickers include Gus Gus, Pascal and Lumiere and we won’t spoil your fun by revealing the locations we were given them!

Discovery Quest Scavenger Hunt

I did this with my 4 and 6-year-old and we had so much fun! Guests answer a series of riddles each related to a specific part of the hotel. Our hunt took us from the lobby to the Rotunda and all around the public areas of the hotel as we answered questions about the Disneyland Hotel.

Benefits of staying in Disneyland Paris Hotels

As well as the exclusive experiences provided to Disneyland Hotel guests, there is another host of benefits included for guests of any of the Disneyland Paris hotels. We find it is more than worth staying onsite:

Extra Magic Hour: one of the greatest perks of staying onsite. As a Disneyland Hotel guest, you are granted early access to both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park. This means you can access many of the most popular rides when queue times are minimal and enjoy the park with limited crowds.

Character Dinner Plaza Gardens at Disneyland Paris
Having fun at the Castle during Extra Magic Time

Access to Princess Dining and Character Dining Reservations at time of booking: Princess dining and character breakfasts are hugely popular and reservations can be hard to come by. One of the bonuses of staying onsite is that you can reserve these three extras when booking your package or add them later (you can do this by logging into your account on disneylandparis.com and adding extras). If you are staying offsite, character dining is available 3 days in advance on the app.

Character Dinner Plaza Gardens at Disneyland Paris
Disney hotel guests have instant access to character dining reservations

Early access to Dining Reservations: Disneyland Paris hotel guests can reserve dining up to 12 months in advance (versus 2 months for regular guests). This is the best way to ensure reservations at the most popular restaurants including Captain Jack’s, Walt’s and Downtown in Hotel New York – the Art of Marvel.

Hotel New York The Art of Marvel Disneyland Paris
Downtown in Hotel New York – the Art of Marvel.

Immerse yourself in a Disney bubble: Disneyland Paris is a magical place and a visit is almost like being wrapped in a wonderful bubble of Disney. I always find that staying onsite helps to prolong the magic!

There are also lots of benefits to booking a hotel and ticket package. We always book our hotels and tickets directly with Disneyland Paris:

  • Park tickets: Park tickets are included when you book a package through disneylandparis.com. Park tickets are included from your day of arrival to your day of departure and are heavily discounted as part of the package. We’ve always priced up booking an offsite hotel and tickets separately (we need tickets for 2 adults and 2 children) and the savings are minimal – depending on your ticket needs or if you don’t want to go to the park every day you might find it better to book separately.
    • price hotels on booking.com
    • price park tickets directly through Disneyland Paris and Attraction tickets
    • allow for the cost of parking if necessary (Eur 30 per day at the park)
    • we usually find that the Disney hotel packages offer better value

How to Visit the Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris

There are two ways to visit the Disneyland Hotel:

1 | Use Lineberty App to book a visit (open to all)

Disneyland Paris has changed the rules around accessing the Disneyland Hotel a few times since opening. Initially, the hotel was exclusive to overnight guests and then a standby line was introduced at the entrance. Now, guests must register for a visit on Lineberty, an app occasionally used by Disneyland Paris.

Guests must download the Lineberty App and use it to reserve a same-day visit for a maximum of 4 guests – to reserve, click on M&G Disneyland Hotel. Guests are allocated a time and have 1 hour to arrive at the hotel.

Visitors must reserve a visit via the Lineberty App

Guests who visit the hotel as a non-resident can visit common areas of the hotel including the boutique, the lobby and Fleur de Lys Bar. Depending on what time you visit, you might even meet royalty in the corridors!

2 | Reserve a table at the Royal Banquet (open to guests of Disneyland Paris hotels)

Guests staying at one of the Disneyland Paris hotels can reserve lunch at the Royal Banquet.

  1. Thank you for this detailed guide! I am planning a trip for November, but I have found it difficult to find anything about the hotel since it just reopened. I am hoping you can answer 2 questions. 1. Were you able to eat at the Hôtel breakfast and still make it to extra magic hours?
    2. When you book the Royal Encounter do you know what princess you will meet? Are multiple princesses there at one time? Or is it just luck of the draw like the Princess Pavilion?

    • Hi Amy

The hotel breakfast started at 7.30am – we were there at 7.30am and in the park around 8am. The buffet style dining means everything is relatively quick and then your only steps from the park anyway! For the Royal Encounter you don’t know which Princess you will meet as they rotate throughout the day. However, you can book a slot every day of your stay and, if you’ve met the Princess before, the Cast Members might let you know who is arriving next. We also met the Princesses in the corridors and Belle and Cinderella were in the lobby and took pictures with guests. There’s also Table de Lumiere, there were 3 Royal couples the night we dined there. Hope that helps and you have an amazing stay. We loved it so much we booked a second stay for next year as soon as we returned home!
