After some recent stays in Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, we wanted to share our review to help those of you planning your own Disneyland Paris trip!
Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel tip: we’ve stayed at all 5 of the onsite hotels currently open (Marvel, Santa Fe, Sequoia Lodge, Newport Bay Club and Cheyenne) in recent months. The 5* Disneyland Hotel will reopen in January 2024 after refurbishment and we will be checking it out soon after it opens.

Disney Hotel New York is designed in the style of a modern New York hotel. There are three wings – Gramecy, Brownstone and Midtown – which are centered around the Marvel-themed lobby. Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel tip: you might hear the hotel reffered to as the New York Hotel, the Marvel Hotel, the Art of Marvel or Hotel New York to name a few – it’s all the same hotel and the official name is Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel.

Exclusive Marvel Hotel Perks
Marvel Super Hero Meet and Greet (Exclusive to Marvel Hotel guests): the Marvel Super Hero meet and greets are exclusive to Marvel Hotel guests. Guests with an accommodation reservation can book a timeslot on the Disneyland Paris app – we met Thor and Black Widow on our most recent stay at the Marvel Hotel (October 2023).
Downtown Reservations: the evening buffet at Downtown, one of the Marvel Hotel’s restaurants, is one of the hottest reservations at Disneyland Paris and is one of our favourites. The Disney Hotel New York concierge has been able to help us, as hotel guests, secure a last-minute Downtown reservation when we missed out on reserving via the app.
Metro Swimming Pool: our kids love staying at hotels with a swimming pool and they make sure to swim every day in the Metro Swimming Pool at the Marvel hotel. Sequoia Lodge and Newport Bay also have swimming pools.
Benefits for all Disney Hotel Guests
Extra Magic Hour: one of the greatest perks of staying onsite. As a Marvel Hotel guest, you are granted early access to both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park. This means you can access many of the most popular rides when queue times are minimal and enjoy the park with limited crowds.
Character Meet and Greets at Disneyland Paris hotels: Santa Fe, Newport Bay Club, Sequoia Lodge and Cheyenne host meet and greets that are currently open to all visitors. The lines tend to be shorter than in the parks and the outfits are themed to the hotel. We’ve met Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, Max, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Woody and Jessie at hotel meet and greets in the last 12 months – Woody and Jessie are exclusive to Cheyenne and Max is unique to Sequoia Lodge.
Walk to park/free shuttle: we love being able to walk to and from both of the Disneyland Paris parks and Disney Hotel New York is less than a 10-minute walk – it is the closest hotel to the park (until the newly refurbished Disneyland Hotel opens in January 2024). The hotels all run frequent (and free) shuttles to and from the park if you prefer the bus option.
Daytime downtime: after long mornings in the park it is such a bonus to be able to walk back to our hotel for a rest.
Princess Dining/Character Dining: Princess dining and character breakfasts are hugely popular and reservations can be hard to come by. One of the bonuses of staying onsite is that you can reserve these three extras when booking your package or add them later (you can do this by logging into your account on disneylandparis.com and adding extras). If you are staying offsite, character dining is available 3 days in advance on the app.
Early access to Dining Reservations: Disneyland Paris hotel guests can reserve dining up to 12 months in advance (versus 2 months for regular guests). This is the best way to ensure reservations at the most popular restaurants including Captain Jack’s, Walt’s and Downtown in Hotel NewYork – the Art of Marvel.
Free Parking: we’ve always driven to Disney so free parking onsite is an awesome bonus of staying in a Dinsey hotel. Parking at Disneyland Paris cost EUR 30 a day if you stay elsewhere and drive to the park and is complementary at the onsite hotels.
Shopping delivered to your hotel: if you spend a certain amount in a store (usually EUR 50) you can enquire about hotel delivery – purchases to be transferred to your hotel and you can pick them up at your hotel gift shop after 8pm on the same day.
Immerse yourself in a Disney bubble: Disneyland Paris is a magical place and a visit is almost like being wrapped in a wonderful bubble of Disney. I always find that staying onsite helps to prolong the magic!

Park tickets are included from your day of arrival to your day of departure and are heavily discounted as part of the package. We’ve always priced up booking an offsite hotel and tickets separately (we need tickets for 2 adults and 2 children) and the savings are minimal – depending on your ticket needs or if you don’t want to go to the park every day you might find it better to book separately.

- allow for the cost of parking if necessary (Eur 30 per day at the park)

After staying at all 5 of the onsite Disney Hotels recently, here’s our take on Disney Hotel New York – Art of Marvel:
The Bedrooms
The bedrooms in the Marvel hotel are located in one of the 3 hotel wings – Gramercy, Brownstone and Midtown. We’ve stayed in both the Gramercy and Brownstone wings and the rooms were identical just with a different view!
The bedrooms are modern and spacious with a mix of Marvel and Manhattan touches.
All rooms have air conditioning and there are 3 rooms types to choose from:
- Superior rooms (regular/ with garden view/ with garden terrace): superior rooms have 2 double beds and a garden view or terrace can be selected (with a higher room rate) when reserving. There are some superior family rooms which sleep up to 6 but availability can be limited.
- Empire State Club Rooms (regular / lake view): club level rooms have 2 double beds or 1 double and 1 sofa bed and feature Iron Man Artwork. They include additional perks such as a separate check-in area and access to the Empire State Club lounge where breakfast and snacks are served.
- Suites: choose between Avengers, Super Heroes and Spider-Man suites. Suites have the same benefits as Empire State Club Rooms and include a dedicated check-in and access to the Empire State Club Lounge.
The rooms are clean, quiet and really spacious with some nice Marvel / New York theming.
Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel tip: we’ve stayed in the Superior Rooms both with and without a view and had a terrace on one occassion. The superior rooms are very spacious and our family of 5 (2 adults, 2 children and 1 infant) fit very comfortably with plenty of space for a cot.
All of our superior rooms have been almost identical with the exception of the view. The terrace was a great option for us as the room was located by the hotel exit for the park so it meant we could walk directly to the park from our room without having to go through the hotel!
Meet and Greets: Super Hero Station
Dinsey Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel hosts an exclusive meet and greet for hotel guests. The meet and greets are hosted in the hotel’s very own Super Hero Station – as well as the meet and greet backdrop the Super Hero Station has a series of Marvel scenes which provide wonderful photo backdrops.
During our most recent visit (October 2023), we met Thor and Black Widow in the Super Hero Station.
Marvel Hotel guests can book a slot at the Super Hero Station through the Disneyland Paris App. Reservations are currently available from 7 days out although this timeframe can change.
Other Disneyland Paris Hotel Meet and Greets
Sequoia, Newport Bay Club, Santa Fe and Cheyenne all host daily meet and greets for their guests. Guests can currently visit any of the onsite hotels and attend their daily meet and greets with the characters.
The other hotel meet and greets are currently held at (the times change regularly so make sure to confirm with your concierge before you walk over):
- Sequoia/Cheyenne: in the morning. Mickey and Friends in Sequoia (including Max who is exclusive to Sequoia) and Woodie and Jessie in Cheyenne.
- Newport Bay/ Santa Fe: Mickey or Friends visit in the evening
On our most recent visits (August and September 2023) we met Minnie and Goofy in Santa Fe, Minnie, Pluto, Daisy and Goofy in Newport Bay Club and Max and Pluto in Sequoia Lodge. We met Thor and Black Widow at the Marvel.
Food/Restaurants
Disney Hotel New York – the Art of Marvel has four food and drink options: Downtown, Manhattan, Skyline Bar and Bleeker Street Lounge.
Downtown Restaurant
The evening buffet at Downtown is one of the hottest dining reservations at Disneyland Paris. There are Chinese, American and Italian food stations and the dessert options are mouth-watering.
Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel tip: Dining slots fill up well in advance for Downtown so make sure to reserve as soon as you book your Disneyland Paris trip (remember, Disney hotel guests can reserve from 12 months out and offsite guests from 2 months out). We’ve had success checking with the conceirge on arrive at the Marvel Hotel when we’ve missed out on an app reservation.
Skyline Bar
If you fancy a cocktail with a New York backdrop then stop by the Skyline Bar in the hotel lobby. It really is like stepping into another world and the cocktails are incredible. The bartenders mix up amazing cocktails and always spoil our kids with colourful non-alcoholic versions which they adore.
Manhattan Restaurant
The Manhattan Restaurant is an Italian fine-dining restaurant with an incredible chandelier as the restaurant’s centrepiece.
Breakfast is also served at the Manhattan Restaurant and there is a wide selection of sweet and savory options.
Bleeker Street Lounge
This understated lounge is a great place to hang out and has a great selection of craft beers, organic wines, soft drinks and coffees.
Facilities
Swimming Pool
The New York-themed Metro Swimming Pool is a highlight of our stays at the Marvel Hotel – there is a large heated outdoor (seasonal) and indoor pool, a hot tub and a small kid’s pool.
Sauna and Steam Room
There is an adults-only sauna and steam room.
Gym
The hotel has both the indoor Metro Health Club and the outdoor Hero Training Zone which includes a basketball court.

Disney Hotel New York – the Art of Marvel has a fun addition for children, The Marvel Design Studio.
Our kids love the Marvel Design Studio where they can learn to draw Marvel Super Heroes or spend time colouring in and drawing.

Gift Store
There is a Marvel-filled gift store, the New York Boutique. It has some lovely Marvel souvenirs and collectables and hotel-specific merchandise
Each of the Disney Hotels has beautiful gift stores where you can pick up Disneyland Paris souvenirs and merchandise themed to the specific hotel.
Walking Distance to the Park
The Hotel New York – Art of Marvel is the closest hotel (until the newly refurbished Disneyland Hotel at the park entrance reopens in January!) to the Disneyland Paris Parks. It takes us around 7 minutes to walk through the village to Walt Disney Studios Park and less than 10 minutes to walk to Disneyland Park. There is a security checkpoint at the entrance to the Disney Village which is used by guests of the Marvel, Sequoia Lodge, Cheyenne and Santa Fe hotels.
The onsite hotels operate a free shuttle bus if you prefer not to walk. Shuttle buses leave every 12 minutes and are free of charge. It takes a few minutes to arrive at the park.
Theming
Disney Hotel New York – the Art of Marvel is a must for Marvel fans.
On arriving at the hotel lobby, Marvel fans will immediately be drawn to the 3 full size Iron Man suits in the hotel lobby.
The hotel has the world’s largest collection of Marvel artwork and there are over 350 stunning original works by 110 international artists – the artwork is wonderful and there are stunning pieces all across the hotel.
The in-room theming is quite subtle and limited to artwork.
Is Disney Hotel New York – the Art of Marvel worth it?
Over the last few years, the Marvel Hotel has consistently been the most expensive accommodation at Disneyland Paris reflecting its status as the most luxurious onsite hotel (the 5* Disneyland Hotel will likely take this accolade when it reopens in January).

Is it worth it? If you want a luxury stay with spacious and sleek rooms, an exclusive meet and greet, a wonderful swimming pool and excellent service then the Marvel hotel is most definitely worth it and we’ve absolutely loved every single night we’ve spent in the hotel. For us, it’s most definitely worth the splurge when it is within budget.
However, if it’s out of budget then be assured that all of the onsite hotels offer wonderful stays. We enjoy our nights at Santa Fe where our young kids love the Cars theming and Cheyenne for it’s Toy Story and Wild West feel. If you want a swimming pool, Sequoia Lodge is wonderfully unique and Newport Bay Club is nautically charming.
