With two huge Star Wars fans in our family, we’ve done pretty much everything Star Wars that Disneyland Paris has to offer! From building lightsabers and riding Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain to meeting Darth Vader and hunting down Grogu snacks, Star Wars fans can have a brilliant day in Discoveryland. Here’s everything Star Wars at Disneyland Paris!

Star Wars at Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris doesn’t have a full Star Wars land like Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World or Disneyland California, but there is still plenty for fans to enjoy. Almost all of the Star Wars action is in Discoveryland in Disneyland Park, with two rides, character meets, themed merchandise, fun snacks and seasonal extras around May the 4th.

Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain
Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain is one of the biggest thrill rides at Disneyland Paris and, for Star Wars fans, it’s an absolute must-do.

The ride launches guests from 0 to 44 miles per hour in just 1.8 seconds from the huge Columbiad cannon in Discoveryland. Once inside, you’re thrown into a high-speed Star Wars battle with music, projections, darkness and three inversions.
It’s intense, fast and very loud, so it’s definitely one for thrill seekers and riders must be 1.2m.
Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain was originally Space Mountain, themed around Jules Verne’s From the Earth to the Moon. You can still see some of that beautiful Discoveryland steampunk-style theming around the outside of the ride, which is one of the things that makes the Disneyland Paris version feel so unique.
Our favourite time to ride is during Extra Magic Time when wait times are usually much lower. It can build a queue quickly later in the day, especially when the park is busy.

Star Tours: The Adventures Continue
Star Tours: The Adventures Continue is a brilliant Star Wars ride for the whole family, especially if your kids (1.02m) aren’t quite ready for Hyperspace Mountain.
It’s a 3D motion simulator where guests board a Starspeeder for what should be a routine flight. Obviously, this is Star Wars, so things do not go to plan! C-3PO ends up taking control, the First Order gets involved and your ship is soon speeding through the galaxy.
One of the best things about Star Tours is that the ride has lots of different mission combinations, so you can have a different experience each time you ride. We’ve ridden it loads of times and still get excited to see which characters and locations appear.
The queue is also great for Star Wars fans, with C-3PO, R2-D2 and lots of fun details before you board.

Starport: A Star Wars Encounter
Starport is the location for a Star Wars Encounter with a famous face from across the galaxy. On recent visits we’ve met Darth Vader, Rey and Chewbacca.
Meet and Greets at Starport are typically on the Virtual Queue – make sure to read our Virtual Queue Guide at Disneyland Paris to get an idea of how it works and how to secure a spot.
Darth Vader is one of the most memorable character meets in Disneyland Paris because Darth Vader stays completely in character. The whole meet feels dramatic, intimidating and very Star Wars. Our kids absolutely love it, although younger children may find him a little scary!
Darth Vader has long been the main character at Starport, but this year they have expanded the meet and greet to include other Star Wars characters.
A Disney PhotoPass photographer is usually present, and you can also take your own photos.
Chewbacca is currently hosting his own meet and greet beside Starport. This spot is usually held by the Mandalorian and Grogu but they are taking a break at the moment.

Meet The Mandalorian and Grogu
Meeting The Mandalorian and Grogu is one of our favourite Star Wars experiences at Disneyland Paris. They are taking a break at the moment but we hope to see them return soon.

The Mandalorian usually meets guests in Discoveryland near Star Tours, and Grogu is absolutely adorable in person. The interaction is really fun and feels much more special than a quick photo stop.
This meet is extremely popular, so check the Disneyland Paris app for times on the day of your visit. Queues can build quickly, especially during school holidays and Star Wars-themed periods.
For big Star Wars fans, this is one of the best character meets in the park.

Star Traders Boutique
Star Traders is the main Star Wars shop at Disneyland Paris. It’s located at the exit of Star Tours, although you can also enter directly from Discoveryland.
This is where you’ll find most of the Star Wars merchandise in Disneyland Park, including lightsabers, clothing, figures, costumes, mugs, pins, plushes and accessories.
If you have a Star Wars fan in your family, be warned: this shop is very tempting!

Build a Lightsaber
Build a Lightsaber is one of the best Star Wars souvenirs for kids at Disneyland Paris.
This is not the same as the premium lightsaber-building experience at Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World or Disneyland California. The Disneyland Paris version is much more low-key and takes place inside Star Traders.
That said, our kids absolutely love it.
Guests choose different parts and build their own plastic lightsaber. You can usually choose between a single lightsaber or a double lightsaber, with different pieces to customise the final design.
It’s a really fun activity for younger Star Wars fans, and the lightsabers are great for playing with afterwards.

Build a Droid
Build a Droid is another fun activity inside Star Traders.
Guests can choose different droid parts, including the body, head, legs and accessories, to create their own mini droid figure. There are usually lots of different options, including some cute Disney-inspired details.
It’s smaller and usually cheaper than building a lightsaber, so it’s a great option if your child wants a Star Wars souvenir but you don’t want to carry a lightsaber around the park all day!

Star Wars Snacks at Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris does change its snacks regularly, but Star Wars treats are often available in Discoveryland.

Rocket Café, near Star Tours, has been one of the best places to find Star Wars-themed snacks. We’ve seen Darth Vader and Stormtrooper waffles served with toppings like Nutella or sugar, along with themed biscuits and sweet treats.

Cool Station, opposite Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, has also had Star Wars snacks, including a very cute Grogu biscuit.

Café Hyperion sometimes has Star Wars-inspired menu items too, including BB-8-and Grogu themed burgers or seasonal desserts.
The exact snacks can change, so always check the Disneyland Paris app or the menus in Discoveryland during your visit.

Star Wars Day and May the 4th at Disneyland Paris
If you’re a Star Wars fan, May the 4th is one of the best times of year to visit Disneyland Paris.
Disneyland Paris usually celebrates Star Wars Day in Discoveryland, with limited-time entertainment, characters, merchandise, snacks and extra galactic atmosphere around the land. There are special characters, BDX droids and even Stormtrooper patrolling the area.

For 2026, Disneyland Paris announced Star Wars Day celebrations on May 4th, with selected limited-time experiences continuing until May 24th to mark the release of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. The official line-up included Chewbacca, BDX droids at Videopolis Theater and extra Star Wars-themed souvenirs and snacks in Discoveryland.

If your family are big Star Wars fans, we’d definitely consider planning a visit around May the 4th. Just be prepared for higher crowds in Discoveryland and keep checking the Disneyland Paris app for character times and entertainment updates.

Lounge Lightspeed (not confirmed for 2026)
One of the most exciting 2025 Star Wars additions at Disneyland Paris was Lounge Lightspeed.
Lounge Lightspeed opened in summer 2025 as a seasonal outdoor terrace on the roof of Starport in Discoveryland. We’d love to see it return but it hasn’t been confirmed for 2026 at the time of writing. It offered views over the X-wing starfighter and Discoveryland, with themed drinks, snacks, music, BDX droids and Star Wars character appearances.
Which Star Wars Characters Can You Meet at Disneyland Paris?
The regular Star Wars character meets at Disneyland Paris are usually Darth Vader at Welcome to Starport and The Mandalorian with Grogu in Discoveryland.
In recent months we’ve also seen Rey and Chewbacca make regular appearances in Discoveryland.
During special events and Star Wars seasons, other characters may appear. Disneyland Paris has previously featured characters such as Kylo Ren, Boba Fett and Ahsoka as well as patrolling Stormtroopers during limited-time celebrations.

Is There a Star Wars Land at Disneyland Paris?
No, Disneyland Paris does not currently have a full Star Wars land.
A Star Wars-themed expansion was originally announced years ago as part of the Walt Disney Studios Park transformation, but it has not appeared in recent plans and the expansion has almost definitely been shelved.
Instead, the current major expansion focus has been Disney Adventure World and World of Frozen. As much as we’d love to see even a small version of Galaxy’s Edge in Paris, there is currently no confirmed Star Wars land coming to Disneyland Paris.

Is There Anything Star Wars in Disney Adventure World or the Disneyland Paris Hotels?
At the moment, Star Wars is mainly found in Disneyland Park, specifically in Discoveryland.
There are currently no Star Wars rides in Disney Adventure World and no Star Wars-theming in the hotels at Disneyland Paris.
You may occasionally find Star Wars merchandise outside Discoveryland, especially in larger shops, but the main Star Wars experiences are all in Disneyland Park.
Our Favourite Star Wars Experiences at Disneyland Paris
If you only have limited time, these are the Star Wars experiences we would prioritise:
- Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain (1.2m) is the best choice for thrill seekers.
- Star Tours (1.02m) is the best family-friendly Star Wars ride.
- Darth Vader is the most dramatic character meet.
- Chewbacca is one of our favourite Disneyland Paris meet and greets EVER!
- The Mandalorian and Grogu are definitely the cutest Star Wars meet.
- Build a Lightsaber is the best souvenir activity for younger kids.
- May the 4th is the best time to visit for extra Star Wars atmosphere.

Final Thoughts on Star Wars at Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris might not have Galaxy’s Edge, but there is still plenty for Star Wars fans to enjoy.
Discoveryland has two excellent Star Wars rides, brilliant character meets, themed snacks, merchandise and fun souvenir-building activities. Add in seasonal extras around May the 4th and it can be a really exciting part of a Disneyland Paris trip for Star Wars fans.
Our kids love this part of the park, and even though we’d still love to see more Star Wars arrive in Paris one day, Discoveryland is always a must-do for us.
There’s plenty to keep Star Wars fans entertained in Disneyland Paris!

I remember waiting just shy of 4 hours to met Mando and Grogu when they first came to Disneyland Paris. And it was still worth it! They are truly amazing. Do you know what the current wait times are?
I’ve never seen Stormtroopers in Disneyland Paris, when did you experience that? Was it for a special event? How exciting!
Totally worth it! I think the lines are still pretty long but the Cast Members cut the line when it’s full and tell guests to return at the next time listed in the app so no one is waiting around for hours at least!
The Stromtroopers have been out on random days so hopefully it becomes a regular thing like the US parks!
Are the Star Wars characters every day, or only on certain days?
Hi Donna,
Darth Vader is usually there every day but the Stormtroopers only make ad hoc appearances. The Mandalorian and Grogu are scheduled to meet guests everyday but they’ve taken a few extended breaks in recent months – you can see if they’re out on the Disneyland Paris App.
